NEW NAME REFLECTS FOCUS ON GLOBAL

One of the worlds biggest names in the supply of critical components for the global power generation sector has undergone a major rebrand to provide greater recognisability of its brands and further enhance its service to customers.The former IMI Severe Service business will now be known as IMI Critical Engineering, truly reflecting its status as a world-leading supplier of critical flow control solutions which allow the sector to operate safely, cleanly, reliably and more efficiently. The rebrand confirms IMI Critical Engineerings status as a leading global player in this area, harnessing extensive global resources in research & development, engineering and manufacture to meet the stringent needs of the power generation sectors across the world. The change is part of IMI plcs strategy to bring all of its group businesses closer together, enabling wider sharing of resources with the aim of engineering great solutions for its customers. Within IMI Critical Engineering, the focus will be on continued, high-level investment in world-class facilities, with the creation of new plants and support sites to guarantee a truly local and responsive service to customers. IMI Critical Engineering encompasses many well-known names in the design and manufacture of products for critical applications in the sector, including IMI CCI, IMI NH, IMI STI and IMI Fluid Kinetics. Having undertaken more than 200,000 installations worldwide across more than five decades, its portfolio of control valves includes DRAG, BTG and ABJ technology, as well as technology acquired from Sulzer. The companys engineering expertise enables the company to meet all possible requirements in the areas of thermal shock, high-speed modulation, high rangeability, repeatable tight shut-off, and low noise with designs for ease of maintenance. Employing more than 4,000 people , IMI Critical Engineering boasts manufacturing facilities in 12 countries and service centres located around the world, with 150 field service specialists ensuring round-the-clock customer support. The company designs, manufactures and installs customised, highly engineered solutions for both new facilities and replacement/ upgrade, while providing complete plant life cycle service support. IMI Critical Engineerings products are designed to offer optimum performance and integrity in even the harshest operating conditions - extremes of temperature and pressure, as well as intensely abrasive or corrosive cyclical operations.
